Padme is a feminine name of Sanskrit origin, meaning “lotus flower.” The Lotus of Life pattern in this collection was inspired from the painted ceiling of the Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple in Madurai, South India, which depicts a stylized 1,000-petaled lotus flower—a symbol of elevated consciousness.
